museums aren't as boring as i thought they would be. i read an issue of beMUSE magazine, and i thought the stamp exhibition at the philatelic museum looked pretty interesting so i decided to pay a visit to the museum. there were showcases of different stamps from around the world, pictures of old cinema theatres in singapore, "a cow and bull story" exhibition, but i loved the superheroes and comics exhibtion! the tin tin and asterisk stamps were really cool :D
i saw the armenian church from the 2nd floor of the museum, and it seemed rather interesting, so needless to say, that was my next destination.
the armenian church is just across the road from the philatelic museum. if i'm not wrong, its the oldest church in singapore. the architecture of the church is quite beautiful. there are quite a few tombstones in the church's garden premises. the inscription on the tombstones is pretty interesting.. and if you're really sensitive i think you might be able to sense some .. spirits or you know... =/
after that, i decided to check CHIJMES out. did you know that CHIJMES used to be a convent school? its full of restaurants and bars now. i love the spiral staircase at the entrance. its old school and the whole place is lovely too. oh fyi, baroque at CHIJMES is pretty cool. (lots of cute ang mohs haha!)
the singapore art museum was next. i didn't really have much time to check out the entire museum, but i took a picture of a pretty cool statue of a coolie and his friend eating and it got my pretty hungry ... so i decided to call it a day and went to grab a bite at raffles city.
okay that pretty much concludes my short civic district trail experience! (:
