Friendster is an online social networking service that allows users to connect themselves to their friends and even their friends’ friends. It also enables users to view their friends’ profiles, write testimonials about them and view their photo albums.
I created my first Friendster account in 2003 because my friends had created their own accounts and encouraged me to set up one as well. At first, I thought Friendster is a childish and useless portal. However, I changed my views after finding many long lost primary school friends through Friendster. Also, I could find updates about other friends whom I seldom talk to.
However, the popularity of Friendster has declined.Many switched to MySpace or Facebook which are similar networking sites. These sites are more popular amongst junior high school and high school students in the United States of America and Canada.
For me, most of my friends are still using Friendster so I guess I am sticking to it for another period of time.
