In 2003 I took part in an Indian fashion show held at Suntec City at the fountain area. The fashion show was held in conjunction with Deepavali celebrations. Deepavali is also known as the ‘Festival of Light’. There were about 12 of us taking part, a mix of people with some modeling experience and others like me who had never done this before. I was excited at the prospect of being a model, and I asked all my friends and relatives to come down. During the show, I was very nervous especially when it became my turn for the catwalk. It was an interesting experience for me and my first time wearing a sari.
