21st July 2010 is Racial Harmony Day. Today, we celebrating Racial Harmony Day. Racial Harmony Day is about getting together with different races, chatting, enjoying, and making friends. My school has organised some activities for the students and we are allocated to different lesson about racial harmony. I was alllocated to a session. Chinese Dialects. The were 3 main catergories, Cantonese, Hainanese, Hokkien. I chose cantonese because it was much more interesting and profound for me.

When we started, the teacher introduced themselves and teached us how to pronouce numbers in cantonese. One of my friend, knew some cantonese, and impressed the teacher by the speed and accuracy when he read out the numbers. I was astonished that my good friend was actually so good in it. When it was my turn to read, i mumbled, because i did not really know how to read. Later, we were shown some interesting animation, with cantonese lauguage and with subtitles. Personally i think that the animation was very interesting although i could not understand what it is saying. We were given a short quiz at the end and i managed to answer it correctly.

Before leaving the session, we thank the teachers and finished the survey. It was a great and enriching day.
