Last year racial harmony day, our school had differet activities for us. It was an ethnic costume competition between classes. We are supposed to bring our own materials so that we can transform it into a costume of our own. It was suppose to be original and creative. our class is split into different groups and one person in each group is suppose to be the "model" and we have a time limit. Students brought plastic bags, cloths, and other different kinds of materials. There is a group of boys that did not bring any materials and they just used a big plastic bag in class. They cut it and put it on the model. They also wrote a board and put it on the person's back. It was quite insulting to the person and they started a argument. For the rest of the class, thre were other different designs. one of them was dressed as a malay lady. and the rest were very original and it was nothing like a ethnic costume. But the activity was quite fun. In conclusion, i think it is important to live harmoniously together to avoid any conflicts.
