Do you believe this - porcelain ashtrays like these were on the tables of my late father's coffeeshop way back in the 60s and 70s? Of course, with wear, tear and washing, not all would have looked so new. Nowadays as you look around in coffeeshops, you'll only find plastic ones or improvised ones (eg. from condensed milk tins).
