What could be better on a hot, sunny day than some ice-cream? I remember as a child waiting for the ring-ring-ring of the ice-cream man every Saturday afternoon without fail. I waited eagerly for him to come, and once I heard the bell I hurriedly went to take enough coins for a block of ice-cream sandwiched between two wafers. In those days it used to cost 50 cents. My favourite flavor to buy was chocolate chip, but other flavors available include durian, chocolate, strawberry, vanilla etc.
Another type of traditional ice cream is the scoop type, which comes in flavours of sweet corn (yellow), chocolate (brown), vanilla (white) and yam (purple). You can choose to eat these in a cup, cone, or in a slice of multi-coloured bread. Nowadays these ice cream sellers are not easily found, and are more often spotted along Orchard Road.
