I treasure this miniature crate of Coca Cola bottled drinks because firstly, my father had handed it down to me - he having been a coffeeshop proprietor for many years from the 50s - 70s. Secondly, it is so cute, isn't it? The liquid in the bottles has dried up but it adds to the ancient character. Thirdly, it holds special memories. As a child during the early 60s, I witnessed men rushing in to my father's coffeeshop and carting away crates of EMPTY bottles of soft drinks. Why EMPTY? They were waging a gangland fight and these bottles were good ammunition! Thank God my father and his workers - and us his family living on the 2nd storey of the coffeeshop - weren't hurt.
