I remember going to the old Marine Parade Community Library with my mother, borrowing books and listening to the story tellers there on weekends. The old uncle who folded paper boats and other items for us excited kids, the thrill of finding the latest books to read, as you can imagine were the highlight of my week. Back then it was housed in a distinctive two-storey red brick building, now occupied by NTUC. Currently housed in the new Marine Parade Community Complex, it was officially opened by Prime Minister Mr Goh Chok Tong on 28 May, 2000.
