Although looking rather non-illustrious, I treasure this set of aluminium-alloy ladle and rice-scoop utensils because my late mother bought them, used them, and served our rice and soups with them. The largest ladle still has dried flakes of rice porridge fastened to it despite having been last washed many, many years ago, yes, possibly 30 years ago. Mother's Love, they say, never fades.
