Watching movies is undoubtedly one of the main activities people engage in nowadays. Cineplexes are always packed on weekends, Friday nights, and public holidays and their eves. It seems that the increased price of movie tickets has not deterred people from watching their favourite movie stars; such is the power and draw of Hollywood.
However, surprisingly, not only Western movies’ tickets are being sold out. When I went to watch the Korean heart-warming comedy, 200 Pounds Beauty, I was rejected due to a full house cineplex 2 times on 2 separate nights. I guess Korean dramas and comedies have their mass appeal here too because they are humourous without going over-board, yet realistic and heart-warming at the same time.
