I have fond memories of the old National Theatre - way before the Esplanade Theatre was up... Situated at the foot of Fort Canning Park, it's unique facade was iconic in its hey days. We had a few school performances there - usually in hot sweltering afternoons, coupled with no air conditioning - makes it curse and swear as we melt with perspiration in our performance outfits....Well those were the days!
