Back then in the 1990s,when i was still 7, i could remember vividly my neighbourhood in Marsiling was very well serene,peaceful and friendly place to live in. Early morning at the coffee shop,people will be putting lots of cages up on the ceiling outside the coffee shop to listen to the birds chirping and singing. Sometimes the residents would hold a birds singing competition there.The environment was really peaceful and everyone knows each other in the neighbourhood. Our doors was always open and we often invite our neighbours to have a meal or chit chat not like today doors of every units are usually shut and they do not know each other, very unfriendly not like in the past. I miss my old days living in my old neigbourhood. Now my neighbourhood has changed, china and indian immigrants living here and most of the nieghbours do not know each other and people are always busy and do not have the time to greet one another and the wonderful neighbourhood of the past has disappeared into thin air.
