After retiring from many years as a coffeeshop proprietor, my late father 'bequeathed' some tools of his coffeeshop trade to me, viz. spouted pots, buckets, butter knives, icepicks, and a quaint can-opener (the one next to the two icepicks). Papa used this to open countless condense milk tins. First you pierce the tip into the centre of the lid. Then you yank it sideways and align the free-ranging blade at the rim. Press the blade into the rim, and then twirl the can around. Why don't they make can-openers like this anymore?
