I have one and only grandfather as my paternal grandfather passed away before I was born. My grandfather is the best grandfather I ever had. Now let me share with you why I said so.

My grandfather will always render his assistance whenever I ask for help. He will always try his very best to solve my problems. I can still remember a few weeks ago, I was trying to tighten the wires to the hold the bottle caps of the catapults which I was making for my group's project work. My cousin and godmother noticed my struggle and tried helping. Unfortunately, the bottle caps were still loose. As I was in a hurry for my tuition class, I asked my grandfather for help. He willingly agreed. After my tuition, I returned to check on the catapults. I noticed that my grandfather was still tightening them for me. He stayed up very late to finish all of the catapults. He is such a responsible grandfather. I thanked him for all his help.

My grandfather is a war survivor. He experienced the Japanese Occupation. Whenever we have a chance to get together, he likes to relate to us his past experience and also share information from newspaper reports he read. Although sometimes I feel that he is a little talkative, but what he shares are meaningful.

One day, something terrible happened. When my grandfather was 87 years old, because of his shaky hands, he accidentally broke his ear drum while using a cotton bud to clean his ear, and blood oozed out. Doctor said that that side of his ear had turned deaf. Sinc e then, all the family members have to greet him loudly whenever we are going out. My grandfather always teach us,the younger generation must greet or bid farewell to the adults.

My grandfather is also a very innovative person. He can reuse junk and make them into useful things for expamle, he can reuse spoilt radio antennaes to build an indoor antennae. He also uses dismantled switches to operate his radio and uses cans to make a toilet roll holder. His innovations inspire me to enhance my creativity.

My grandfather is a very good handyman. He can repair fused light bulbs, broken pipes, wires, eletronic stuff and more.

My grandfather also taught us Chinese, values and manners. He is also very encouraging, always teaching us never to give up when facing problems. These are his good virtues in my opinion. I have always enjoyed learning his values and his handyman skills.

I wish that my grandfather will always be healthy and happy.
