My Hero

Many people think that those who are fit to be called as heroes are those who have superpowers and save the world again and again .But to me, my dearest mother is my hero.

My mother is always there for me and cares about me. Whenever I fall, she would help me up and when I got poor results, she would encourage me. She gave up almost everything for me.

When I was still in Kindergarten, my English was poor, in fact, very poor and would always make mistakes that should not be made and if teachers were to teach me English, they would surely give up on me. But, my mother did not, she just kept on encouraging and encouraging me to try again. Sometimes, when I just cannot seem to understand what she was teaching me, she would scold me and some times even hit me. After doing so she would storm out of the room and weep silently in a chair. I know how heart-broken she was, yet I just could not change my mistakes.

Finally, my English standard began to improve. I am a China-born boy whose English is now better than some Singaporean children.

There was also a time when my mother started teaching me swimming. She was afraid that I would drown one day if I did not know how to swim. At first, the water felt like an enemy. I guess the reason might have been when I first touched the water in the first big swimming pool I ever saw, the chill came out of the blue and I was so shocked that I staggered back in fright. However, my fears were soon gone after my mother encouraged me a few more times. After splashing around in the water, I grew fonder towards swimming. One night, my mother crept into my room and gave me a present, which was a pair of floats! I was overjoyed. It was those same pair of floats that helped me become an enthusiastic swimmer.

There was another time when my mother prepared me for my exams in Primary Three. She brought tones of exam papers home to let me practice. She even spent time explaining questions that I did not know, slowly. When I was doing he exam papers that she brought for me, I was muttering under my breath that she was “overworking” me and that she should not do it. But all thanks to the exam papers, I attained unbelievable results that I could not believe my eyes.

My mother has done things that helped me in a lot of ways and she does not need me to repay her. Her nobility is too great for me to be able pen it down. She sacrificed a lot for me, she even gave birth to my baby sister just to make sure I have a companion in the future.

Now she is very busy with work, but she still cares about me a lot and I want to say that she is my hero forever in this world.
