The person who touched me most is, my grandmother! Are you surprised, but there would be a reason before her demisement, sad to say. She touched me as for example, she saved me when I was a toddler as I was almost ran over by a truck with loads. She saved me by running across the road, despite my mum stopped her. She made me very touched by doing this. Well, she also taught me how to be honest when I lied to my mum, like whenever I lied to mum about I had studied but actually I did not, she would tell my mother and said, ’Chi Ming, you should not lie to your mum, don’t do it next time, okay?’ I would nod in agreement as I told myself not to do it again. And, I was really grateful towards her as she really taught me that how to be humane enough to be on this world.
But, she demised before I had time with her. The last thing I remembered was that she gave me a colourful stone and told me to keep it well as her mother had given it to her before her final will. She said that she was going to be dead when I went back to Singapore but I did not believe and told her not to be so superstitious when she went to the fortune teller. How I hoped that se did not go to the fortune teller! After a month, she was urgently needed for operation and what she had said turned out to be very true. We quickly booked for an airline to Taiwan to see how she was going.
We really cried ‘heartily’ and sad about her demisement during her funeral ceremony. At night, I still thought of her kind face, shining at me, liked a goddess forgiving a sinned man gently. I smiled back as if she was still alive and well. I missed her dearly as she really cared for me when she was alive. She was like a sunshine to me, an umbrella to me in the rain, and a jug of water in the desert. I still missed her very much as she was etched into my memory forever……..
