My Hero/Heroine

My hero may seem ordinary to other people but she is extraordinary to me. She is my wonderful grandmother. She is not educated yet talented. She is not rich and led a humble life.

As a mother of six children she would do the house chores in the day and work at night to support the family. My grandfather is a sailor and only come home rarely. Thus she is left alone with many children to take care of. Life was hard and tiring.

She is willing to learn things and master them very quickly. She learned sewing from her friend and sews clothes for my father, my uncle and aunts. In those days, they could not afford to buy those things. Having new clothes was considered as a luxury.

She learnt cooking by observing other people in her working place. She would then cook her new learnt dishes for her children. Children were well-fed. Over the years her cooking skills improved. Even till today, I still enjoy her dishes which are tasty and nutritious.

I could not imagine life in the past. If I were her, I am not certain if I can survive under that kind of circumstances. Having no husband by her side and can be considered as the breadwinner of the family, she have to take care of half a dozen of children. Life would be miserable to work in the day and come home with house chores to do like cleaning, sweeping and cooking.

“Your grandmother was a great mother, although your grandfather was not by her side, she never complained, not to any one of us (uncles and aunts) “my father panegyrizes.

My heroine has been living with since I came to this majestic and magnificent world. It is wonderful living with her. I had no worries as I often rely on her. Till now, she till wake up early and make breakfast for me, she still continue to cook delicious and savoury dishes for my whole family. Life without her would be meaningless.

When I was a toddler, she took care of me. My cousins were also taken care by her.

We were also well taken of and protected. Whenever my cousins and I could not fall sleep, she would tell us bedtime stories and stories of her in the past. Sometimes she would say until she fell asleep.

She would always try her best to help us if we needed help. It seemed like every problem would naturally be solved as if it was within her control.

She is really my heroine and I love and admire her a lot. Life is easier and comfortable with her. I cannot afford to lose her.

A hero can be an ordinary person but also a person who posses extraordinary ability which is love. Having a loving and caring heart,

she posses great qualities thus I admire her very much.

Those can be shown as my father , aunts and uncle all show respect to her and love her very much. They can sense her love and care through the years thus treat her very well.

My grandmother– my heroine, a well–respected person.
