Everybody has a hero some are fictional and some are real. My hero is Lee Kuan Yew as he was the one who managed to establish Singapore from a port into a prospering and beautiful garden city. He was also the one who led Singapore into independence .He had backup plans such as NEwater incase Malaysia stops importing water into Singapore because of him Singapore's population also increased. He was able to vision a future for Singapore and he played an important role in the economy of Singapore without him there would be rubbish and litter everywhere. He also promoted the speak Chinese campaign to improve the language spoke in Singapore. He helped to maintain peace and religious harmony in Singapore because nowadays when we take a look around Singapore we can see the different races living together in harmony that is why there is racial harmony where different races get together and share their tradition with other races. Without him there would have been chaos and disputes all over Singapore. He build HDB flats, made sure there was electricity all over Singapore, made everyone had sufficient food and he made sure that diseases were taken care of. He promoted people to pick up litter and throw them in rubbish bins so that Singapore wouldn't be dirty and that dengue mosquitoes wouldn't be able to breed in Singapore so that the disease would be controlled. He also promoted the recycling campaign as the resources around the world are depleting and there is global warming because trees are being cut down for resources. Therefore he told people in Singapore to recycle, reuse and reduce. He helped Singapore become a clean. green and vibrant city, which attracts tourist and other people. Now after all that he has done, many important people from other countries are coming over to Singapore to discuss about the matters and Singapore also has many transfer students from all over the world coming to schools in Singapore to find out how education is imparted into children or exchange programs to understand the culture and unique features and delicacies in Singapore like the Sentosa, Jurong Bird Park, the zoo and food like laksa, nasi lemak and many more. It was also Mr. Lee Kuan Yew who helped Singaporeans develop our own way of life and culture. It is magnificent just to even think about the time and effort he put into developing Singapore from scratch I don't think there is anybody who is able to make such a tremendous progress over all these years therefore he is my hero.
