                                              My unique heroine

What is a heroine? Is a heroine supposed to have superpowers? Is a heroine supposed to be someone or supposed to be special with good talents? My heroine does not need to be like Superman or Spiderman to be called a hero or a heroine. She may not be as popular as Mr. Lee Kuan Yew or even participate in the Olympics but she is still considered my heroine because she has sacrificed a lot for me and is always there whether I am happy or in trouble. Who is she? Well, she is my beloved mother.

My mother is not perfect with excellent looks and talents. You may then ask, “How did she become my hero?” Well, it all started in kindergarten when I was 5. As I was running in the hallways, chasing my friends, a door was slammed open and it hit me right above my left eye. I was too unconscious to remember what happened next and I fainted. When I woke up, I saw my mother standing beside me in the clinic. While the doctor was helping to heal the bleed, I kept looking at my mother’s facial expression. She was really worried about me and cared for me a lot as she came all the way to my school, which is far away from home to bring me home and take care of me.

Another moment where she cared for me as a heroine was during primary 1. There was a day when the class had to take a vaccination and I was terribly afraid. As I was too scared, my mother was called and she came to school just to calm me for the vaccination. Although it is tiring for her, she came to school anyway and she told me things to calm me down such as, “It’s just a small ant’s bite.” I was then calmed enough to take the vaccination.

The two memorable moments was what inspired me and made her my heroine by showing a lot of care that I have never seen before. Since then, she had made a great impact to my life and I will always remember about her kindness and also teach others that a hero or heroine is someone with sacrifice, courage and kindness.

Even though she does not has a good job such as a lawyer or even is not as rich as a millionaire, the qualities that she has are very unique and the way I feel about her cannot be described in words. The words ‘like’ and ‘love’ cannot even replace the emotions that I feel for her. In fact, she has guided me through my life and always sacrifices for me. Although she may nag at me about my character and housework, I still respect her as a heroine and as a mother. We all know that mothers are always there by our sides. This characteristic is one of those which I like the most and had made a great impact to my life. Whether she is busy at work or at home, she will always be with my side whether I am in happiness or in trouble.

The reason I am sharing with you the story about my heroine is because she has a heart of kindness, loyalty, sacrifice and has made a great impact to my life although she is just an ordinary person, also known as my beloved mother.
