She is the hero of my life, always there and has never ever been missing in action. She is the closest to me, she took care of me since I was a small infant, loves me for who I am and she is the only one who understands me. She is my grandmother. I return home everyday, greeted by the familiar voice, asking me if everything went well in school. At one glance, she knows what I am going to say. She will realize my mood even before I speak a word. She warms up the food for me, turns on the fan, making sure that I am well taken care of. She treats me like as though I am a princess. She is my Hero. She took care of every single one in the household; she wakes up at 4am in the morning everyday before everyone, washes and irons the clothes, prepares breakfast for the entire family, then wakes everyone up at their own specific time. She does so much for the family, but has never asked for anything in return. At an age of seventy-five years old this year, old and frail, hardly able to walk fast, she does not even complain a single word. Never in this lifetime have anyone heard of her moaning and complaining about working hard. Someone asked her if she is happy, she replied that she will be happy, as long as everyone in the family is happy. She portrays what true love and care means. She cooks delicious food for us, making sure that everyone would have at least a favourite food on the table for them to consume almost every meal. Her husband, my grandfather, passed away for almost twenty-five years already. She was left with six children to take care of and she has brought them up successfully by herself. She has never complained at all. She is my Hero. Even though all her children have their own families, she still insists that everyone would gather at her house every Sunday, so as to update their progress to her. She never fails to cook a table full of food for everyone. From appetizer to main course to dessert, everything is well prepared and planned. She suffers from the usual old age illnesses, fragile bones and breathing difficulties. But for everyone, she has endured all of them, to ensure that we will not worry about her. She is such a noble person. She makes it a point to go to the Community Centre to do her morning exercises everyday. Everyone likes her and respects her. She is the Hero of a lot of other people. People shower her with gifts on her birthday and even invite her to their own family events. She is so much more occupied with events than most of us. She is my hero. I treasure her a lot and I cannot imagine the day that I might lose her. But, life and death are part and parcel of life. I will always remember her if she is gone in the near future. She will forever be the hero of my life. No one can replace her. I love my grandmother.
