My father is my hero. He was given a name, Liew Khim Hwa, since he was borned.
Although he is just another ordinary person on earth, he is indeed special to me. I am proud to have him as my father because I admire his strong willed and determined attitude in everything he does. He has this stern pair of eyes and dark skin which usually give others a frightening and mysterious feeling when they first look at him. Sometimes, it may even tend to scare off the other children on the streets. However, when he laughs, his joyous smiles tend to warm my heart, as well as the atmosphere. His cheerful auras spread around the place, bringing laughter to everyone. Besides that, whenever he meets any difficulties in his work, he will persevere and defeat all the problems he faces.
Photography has always been my father’s hobby. He loves to take photographs of the environment as he appreciates the natural scenery of the earth. When I was young, I felt that photography was meaningless and boring. Yet, almost every year, my father will travel to Thailand once, just to take photos of the living life over there. Besides that, I will always groan and made lots of noises whenever he wants to take a picture of me. However, at my age of twelve, I realised the real meaning to photography. It was my father who has inspired me to join photojournalism as my co-curriculum activity in my primary school. Photographs allow me to capture the beautiful sceneries I have seen, as well as the wonderful memories I have with my family and friends all this while. My father has taught me on how I should appreciate my life, my family and most importantly the natural environment. I should cherish what I have now.
At my age of twelve, I had my primary school leaving examination in that year. Stress piled on me and I almost broke down when the examination was nearing. I was depressed because I am not as intelligent as my friends. I felt that I am useless as I could not do things correctly. It was then my father took me to his company to have a look on the way they carry out their work everyday. Although my father is less educated, he is able to carry out his work appropriately. Every morning, when he reaches his work place, he will first distribute the work plan to the workers, so as to start the day well. Also, he organises his job efficiently. Any problem with the planning will also not affect him because he is always prepared to face any challenges. At times, his alertness and the confident attitude towards his task, influences me to learn from him. It was then I knew that I can do it and self confident is the main tool to success.
From my father, he has inspired me to stay strong no matter what happen. To achieve my goal is to strive for it. My father is my hero and always be the one I love.
