My Hero is my father. I have met various people in my life who have inspired me to achieve, but none of them can surpass the influence of one whom I see every day in my life, my father. He is the one who paved and guided me in the path of my life. If my life was a piece of vacant land, he would be the architect who would design the structure of a building on that piece of land as well as the construction worker who started building the basic structure. He would then teach me how he built the foundation of the building; how I can enhance it and said that the rest of the work would be left in my hands, under my own decisions.
My father is an engineer. He had a rough face that showed the number of years of experience in his field of expertise and in life itself. He had a strict face when he was angry, but yet that same face can become very loving when he was happy. He is most happy when he is eating delicious food, for he enjoys eating and has a round figure as evidence to that. Usually, he is a man of few words, but when I ask him questions or wanted to talk to him, he would talk heartily about the subject and enhance the conversation with his own life experiences.
My father often tells me that I should study hard as he knew that in the modern society, one cannot get a good job or even a decent one if he did not have the correct qualifications. Sometimes he would verbally encourage me to study and other times, through his actions. For example, he would reward me if I did well in exams and forbids me from playing games before exams to ensure that I studied for them. He did all this for my own good. He had often emphasized that my future was important and that all he can do was this far and that my future was truly decided by myself through my actions.
My father believes that a person should understand all requirements of his duties in his job as well as his responsibilities as a part of society or any group. He believes that everyone should have the relevant skills to fit their duties, do their jobs by themselves and not call someone else to do it for them. Whenever I had a problem and asked him a question, he would ask me about what I have tried doing about it. If I had not done anything, he would reprimand me for not even trying before seeking his help. If I had tried to do something but failed, he would suggest a few solutions before telling me that whichever solution to use is up to me.
My father is the guiding flame of my life. Without him, I would have felt lost in many situations and would be unable to get out of them. He has built the foundations of my life, taught me how to handle situations in life, prepared me for the future and told me that my future path, who I want to be and how I want my life to be built, is totally my own choice. My father is indeed a beacon in my life, my hero.
