My hero is my aunt, Sherry. Clad in a black collared shirt and ebony bottom jeans, aunt sherry's skin is coated with a layer of buff. despite in her mid-forties, aunt Sherry maintains a youthful look. She backcombs a black bowl-cut and wears a pair of red, tinted glasses.Behind the red, tinted glasses is a pair of almond-shaped eyes. Most of all, aunt Sherry loves listening to the latest pop songs-she brings her I-Phone wherever she goes. hearing these pop songs makes aunt Sherry feel young and feel high, even "higher" than comsuming ecstacy. When she smiles, her distinctive white teeth infuses with her large, pinkish lips. The tiny dimples on her face are deeper than a well.

Aunt Sherry is unlike most middle-aged woman. Instead of spending time aimlessly sauntering at shopping malls, Aunt Sherry will rather play her Playstation Portable (PSP) at home. When she plays, her eyes rotate even faster than a bowling ball. However, when it comes to work Aunt Sherry will stay up all night to complete her work: she stays more alert than a nocturnal owl.

In fact, aunt Sherry is the sole breadwinner. Ever since uncle Jerry lost his job 10 years ago, aunt Sherry had been the only source of income. All this while aunt Sherry had put in all her effort in her job-a bank accountant.(Her salary is well-paid, though.) When I visit Aunt Sherry, she will always tell me to stay focused and be determined. I admire her principles in life-stay focus, stay determined and you will prevail.

Aunt Sherry also loves to help the elderly. Ever since she was a teenager, aunt Sherry always take part in fund-raising activities such as setting up a carnival in public places. When Aunt Sherry is free in the weekends, she will go to the community centre in Bedok to chat with them so that they feel less lonely. Although Aunt Sherry has immigrated to Australia now, heart is always filled up with empathy. She has never thought of giving up on helping the elderly. In fact she does help the elderly in Australia now.

Once, i went with Aunt Sherry to Novena Square during the school holidays. After a meal, Aunt Sherry told me that she wanted to go to the supermarket and asked if I wanted to join her. Naturally I denied- looking at labelled lags is certainly a better choice. After admiring at the dazzling display of labelled bags, I walked out of the store. Just as i walked out of the store, the store alarm went off. I froze. Suddenly, hordes of pairs of eyes started glaring at me, more than a hornet's swarm.

Then, the store owner yelled, "Stop there, you thief!" Hefty footsteps moved toward me. Silhouettes formed around me. Gossip flowed thought the by-passers ears. Mawkishness was showed on my crimson face. I was trapped; deeper than a coal mine. Everyone was ready to deride me, except someone.

Aunt Sherry walked forward and told the shopkeeper, "I think that is all a misunderstanding. My nephew will never steal. He's more timid than anyone else. Should he be responsible for the bag, I'll buy it. Marcus, you like it, right?"

"Yes, Aunt Sherry", I replied. Soon, the crowd dissociated-back to window shopping.

After this incident, I was truly touched by Aunt Sherry's rescue at the last minute. She is adamant-Aunt Sherry has successfully passed down her principles of life to me.
