My hero is my mother, because my hero has to be brave, patient, kind and critical. My hero has to have a good sense of humor and doesn't panic when facing a new situation. She/he certainly doesn't depend on anything or anyone but himself/herself.
My mother was born in 1971 in Singapore. She lived with her younger sister, mother and father, who was an alcoholic. This is probably the reason why my grandmother divorced. Although mum had a hard childhood, she wasn't depressed and didn't give up on life. She got married when she was 21. In that same year, she started building her house, had one child, got pregnant for the second time and still had time to write her degree! Of course she had to work to earn some money! Now, she works as a hospital nurse in NUH.
She can go almost anywhere she desires! By that I mean that she goes there alone, without her husband, because he is interested in different things than her! That is one of the reasons why I admire her! She is as independent as she was before her marriage, maybe even more. She doesn't stay home if her husband is not interested in the things she wants to do or places she wants to see! My mother leads her own life and she loves to share her achievements with the people around her! However, she never intrudes. She has great imagination and looks at life from the good side no matter what is happening!
I admire her because she can do everything she sets her mind on. For me, she is one of the most important people in my life. First, she is my mother and I believe that every mother is some kind of a hero. Secondly, she has never given up and I'm certain that she never will in the future! I wish I was like her, to have her will to live and her optimism. Furthermore, I wish that she will be there for my brother and me, forever! But whatever may happen, I know that her smile, kindness and happines will always be with me!
