Heritage Trails :: Favourite Historical Sites :: Sight of 443 BAD Kranji camp

Hi

I wonder if anyone could tell me whether the above camp was formerly the site of a Japanese concentration camp prior to being used by the British Army Logistics corp during the 1950s? (My dad was based at 443 BAD Kranji from 1953 to 1955 as part of his National Service, and would like to know the history of the site).

Any help would be much appreciated.

Thanks and regards

I'm not sure, dad was a British POW in Changi and was at various camps: Selerang, Towner Street and Changi. He has over 300 images he painted as a POW and we are in the process of adding text, you may want to search through these so see if you can find what you want. Go to www.changipowart.com
All the best.

There is a book written from a survivor of the Kranji camp. You can download the entire book for free off the internet. The author is Geoffrey Bingham, the book 'Love is the Spur'. Here is the link to download this book: http://www.newcreation.org.au/books/pdf/400_Love_is_the_Spur.pdf
Hope this helps Karen
