4 Friends & a Baby

Latest Instalment of School Assembly Programme :
4 Friends & A Baby

Our Flag Flies High, the 2010 Heritage Outreach Programme by NHB & ACT 3 Theatrics, brought back by popular demand in early 2011, visited 110 schools.

The same partnership has now come up with the third instalment of the programme, using the customs, practices and rites of our various ethnic groups as the focal point to unravel a meaningful drama titled ‘4 Friends & A Baby'

The story follows four friends, who get close in Primary School while performing a concert item, subsequently drift apart but a chanced meeting as adults gives them the  opportunity to renew ties.

Renu, the tomboy, is expecting her first child and is about to celebrate the "Valai Kaapu" or Bangles Ceremony. This is a ceremony conducted to seek blessings for a safe childbirth and she invites her long-lost friends to witness it.

Zakariah, the shy one, has his "Bertunang" or Engagement just round the corner and he too extends an invitation for the others to attend.
All is not happy and rosy as Wai Fong loses her father to a long-term illness. Her friends then immediately by her side to lend support.

The final member of the quartet, Brian de Souza, is a TV documentary producer. He takes this opportunity to record and do research on each of the ceremonies he attends. Brian will act as presenter while the dramatization comes alive on stage, describing and explaining the scenes the audience will witness.

Hurry now and book early to avoid disappointment.
