‘My Neighbour, My Friend’ Storywriting Contest

Who lives next door to you? Do you have a neighbour who cares for you like family or friend? Do you have a neighbour who shares the same interests as you? Is this neighbour from another ethnic group? Here is a chance for you to share stories of neighbourly ties and inter-ethnic friendships between you and your neighbour and you may stand to win $100 worth of NTUC vouchers!

How to Submit
Tell your story within 150 words on who your neighbour is and why and how he or she has been a good neighbour and friend to you. Entries submitted should be true and personal stories and must be about real characters and people. Your neighbour can also be from an ethnic group different from that of yours. If possible, stories should be submitted with a photograph of you and your neighbour.

You may submit more than one story. All stories must be submitted through the MyStory portal (MyStory.sg) by 30 September 2009. This contest is open to all Singaporeans, New Citizens and Permanent Residents.

  1. Sign up as an online member by clicking on "Register Now" on the right of this page.

Publicity
Please note that stories submitted from this competition may be selected for an outdoor media project called Close {Encounters of a nice kind}. You and your neighbour may also need to accept media interviews for publicity purposes should the need occur. The Organisers will inform the participants should such a need arise.
